Abstract

The construction of air pollution policy and quality indexes in China pictures a complex relation between scientific evidence meeting political and non-epistemological elements. The consensus process of adopting of the ‘best available framework’ is a critical moment depending on multiple actors approach and contextual constraints. From a Science and Technology Studies (STS) perspective, this article presents some reflections to consider from China’s experience related to the interface between consensus, evidence and multiple actors approach.
